In recognition and encouragement of outstanding contributions to research data sharing and publication, Science Data Bank has established the Science Data Bank Scientific Data Award. Since its inaugural edition in 2020, the Award has been conducted biennially (every two years) to honour exceptional datasets and the affiliated units or teams that have demonstrated excellence in data sharing. The winning datasets and the notable achievements of data communities will be permanently showcased on a dedicated page hosted by Science Data Bank. This work has been included in the UNESCO Open Science Compendium.
