2022-11-18 Deep evolutionary diverse and intense selection in Mosuo population doi:10.11922/sciencedb.01263 en The matrilineal Mosuo is an ethnic group living in the shore of Lugu Lake, between the border of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in Southwestern China. The group speaks a Tibetan-Burman language, and has a population around 50,000. The Mosuo is well known for its matrilineal descent and a duolocal residence marriage, called “visiting marriage”. The origin of this ethnic group remains controversial, and the genomic-scaled health consequences of visiting marriage is unknown.
