The Silk Road in the Tang dynasty laid the basic framework of the historical Silk Road transportation. In this paper, Taking the East-central route of the silk road in the Tang dynasty (618-907) as the research object, comprehensive utilizing of the historical documents and archaeological achievements, as well as historical geography and geographic information system method to establish the silk road traffic route datasets, in order to objectively reflect the appearance of the East-central Silk Road in the Tang dynasty as far as possible. The data not only can be directly used for characterization of the East-central Silk Road traffic routes of the overall situation in the Tang dynasty, and also can retrieve a year's traffic situation, and is an important basic dataset of science research along the road of the Silk Road in the Tang dynasty.
