<dc:title>A spatial and temporal dataset of atmospheric inorganic nitrogen wet deposition in China (1996 – 2015)</dc:title>

<dc:description>Atmospheric nitrogen (N) deposition, a major process of global N cycle, have important effects on the structure and function of natural ecosystems. With the rapid development of industry and agriculture and urbanization, N deposition in China had a sharp increase in recent decades. Therefore, how to get a spatial dataset of atmospheric N deposition is the key to study the ecological and environmental effects of N deposition on the ecosystems. Based on site-year data of N deposition from published literatures and geostatistical method, we built the spatial dataset of wet N deposition in 1996-2000, 2001-2005, 2006-2010, and 2011-2015 in China. The contents of our datasets include NH4+-N, NO3--N and DIN (sum of NH4+-N and NO3--N), and the data format is .tiff with spatial resolution of 1 km×1 km. This dataset is the first shared spatial data of N deposition in China, which could provide the important data resources for the evaluation of the effect of N deposition on ecosystems, environment, and human health, and policy support for N management at the national level.</dc:description>
