<dc:title>Processed microbial community dataset of Vallisneria natans leaf litter</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.0109h</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset originates from metabarcoding sequencing research on epiphytic microorganisms of Vallisneria natans. Samples were collected in August 2022 from Guanshan Reservoir in Kunming, Yunnan Province (24.817 N, 102.833 E). Controlled laboratory experiments were carried out at the Chenggong Campus of Yunnan University. Six experimental treatments were established: N0P0 (no norfloxacin, no polyethylene microplastics), N0P0.5 (no norfloxacin, 0.5 mg L⁻&amp;sup1; polyethylene microplastics), N0P5 (no norfloxacin, 5 mg L⁻&amp;sup1; polyethylene microplastics), N0.3P0 (0.3 mg L⁻&amp;sup1; norfloxacin, no polyethylene microplastics), N0.3P0.5 (0.3 mg L⁻&amp;sup1; norfloxacin, 0.5 mg L⁻&amp;sup1; polyethylene microplastics), and N0.3P5 (0.3 mg L⁻&amp;sup1; norfloxacin, 5 mg L⁻&amp;sup1; polyethylene microplastics). Bacterial 16S rRNA gene and fungal ITS amplicons were sequenced. Sequencing reads were subjected to bioinformatic workflows including quality filtering, OTU clustering, taxonomic annotation and rarefaction, generating OTU representative sequences, rarefied OTU matrices and taxonomic annotation tables. Mean relative abundance tables at phylum and genus levels were further calculated, with abundance values expressed as percentage (%). The dataset comprises nine files: bacterial OTU representative sequence fna file, fungal OTU representative sequence fna file, rarefied bacterial OTU table, rarefied fungal OTU table, mean relative abundance table of bacteria at phylum level, mean relative abundance table of bacteria at genus level, mean relative abundance table of fungi at phylum level, mean relative abundance table of fungi at genus level, and metadata table for 16S rRNA and ITS metabarcoding samples of Vallisneria natans associated microorganisms. In abundance tables, rows represent microbial taxonomic units and columns correspond to individual experimental samples; cell values denote relative abundances of corresponding taxa. The metadata table stores metadata including sample ID, sampling location, collection date and sample origin for all sequenced samples. All table files can be opened and read by conventional office software such as Excel.</dc:description>
