<dc:title>Annual 1 km Dataset of Peak Precipitation Month in China, 1951&amp;ndash;2025</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.010m8</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset provides annual spatial distributions of the peak precipitation month over the land area of China from 1951 to 2025, comprising 75 annual raster layers. The underlying monthly precipitation data were derived from meteorological-station observations and spatially interpolated to produce continuous monthly precipitation grids at a 1 km spatial resolution. For each grid cell and year, precipitation amounts for the 12 calendar months were then compared, and the month with the maximum precipitation was recorded to represent the timing of the annual precipitation peak. The dataset uses the WGS 84 Albers equal-area projection and was spatially clipped to the national boundary of China. It is stored as single-band GeoTIFF files, with pixel values from 1 to 12 representing January through December, respectively, and 0 denoting NoData. All annual layers share a consistent spatial extent, pixel size, raster dimensions, and NoData definition, facilitating long-term time-series comparisons. The dataset can support studies of precipitation seasonality and its spatiotemporal variation, as well as applications in water-resource management, agroclimatic analysis, flood-risk assessment, and climate-change impact research.</dc:description>
