<dc:title>Investigation on the Performance of Cobalt-Based Materials in Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Peroxide Production and Pollutant Degradation</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.011g2</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>CoO@Co-NC series materials were synthesized via an impregnation-pyrolysis method using cobalt chloride hexahydrate, nano-carbon powder and 1,10-phenanthroline as raw materials. The electrocatalytic performances for hydrogen peroxide production and pollutant degradation were systematically evaluated. The physicochemical structures of the as-prepared catalysts were characterized by XRD, XPS, SEM, Raman spectroscopy and other techniques. The results reveal that this synthetic strategy effectively optimizes the structure of active components. Benefiting from the synergistic effect of metallic Co nanoparticles and Co2+ species coexisting in CoO@Co-NC-950, the catalyst exhibits outstanding catalytic activity and superior stability toward the 2-electron oxygen reduction reaction (2e&amp;minus; ORR) under acidic conditions. Hydrogen peroxide molar yield reaches as high as 11.36 mol&amp;middot;g&amp;minus;1&amp;middot;h&amp;minus;1 at 0 V vs RHE in 0.5 mol&amp;middot;L&amp;minus;1 H2SO4 electrolyte. When employed as an electro-Fenton cathode, the material achieves approximately 80% degradation efficiency for 50 mg&amp;middot;L&amp;minus;1 methylene blue within 70 min.</dc:description>
