<dc:description>A variety of bioinformatics methods were adopted to mine potential antimicrobial peptides from the virtual enzymatic hydrolyzed peptide database. Firstly, the CD-HIT method was adopted to remove the redundant sequences with 0.75 as the threshold. Then, the BioPython tool was used to calculate the physicochemical properties of the structure of these peptides, including charge, secondary structure and the proportion of hydrophobic amino acids. Furthermore, Toxinpred3, pLM4Alg and the AMP predict tool developed in this study were respectively utilized to predict the toxicity, allergenicity and antibacterial activity of the polypeptide. The hemolytic nature of the polypeptide was predicted using the HemoPI2 model, including whether it was a hemolytic peptide and the concentration (HC50) required to predict 50% hemolysis of red blood cells.</dc:description>
