<dc:title>N&amp;ndash;P&amp;ndash;K stoichiometry and homeostasis dataset of assimilative branches of three Calligonum species in Central Asia (2022)</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.011wy</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This data set is based on the field sampling and indoor nutrient determination of three species of Calligonum plants in the the Junggar Basin (including Gurbantunggut Desert) in northern Xinjiang in June 2022, covering the nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) content and stoichiometric characteristic data of green assimilating branches of Calligonum mongolicum, C. leucocladum and C. junceum. A total of 28 sampling points were set up in the field (17 for Mongolian sand jujube, 19 for white skinned sand jujube, and 10 for soaked fruit sand jujube). Mature and healthy assimilating branches were collected at each point, and GPS was used to record latitude, longitude, and altitude. At the same time, 0-10 cm of surface soil was collected. After drying and crushing the indoor plant samples at 75 ℃, N was determined using the Kjeltec method (FOSS Kjeltec 1035), P was determined using the molybdenum antimony colorimetric method (Agilent Cary 60), and K was determined using atomic absorption spectroscopy (Thermo iCE 3500) (mg &amp;middot; g ⁻&amp;sup1;, dry weight basis). The dataset contains environmental variable data for 28 sampling points, including plant N/P/K content and N: P, N: K, P: K mass ratios, as well as corresponding geographic factors (longitude, latitude, altitude), climatic factors (annual mean temperature MAT, annual precipitation MAP, solar radiation Srad, potential evapotranspiration PET, aridity), and soil factors (organic carbon SOC, total and available N/P/K, pH, electrical conductivity EC, average particle size MZ, soil moisture content SWC). This dataset can be used for research on plant stoichiometry, allometric growth, nutrient homeostasis, and ecological adaptation strategies in arid regions.&amp;nbsp;</dc:description>
