<dc:title>Annual 500 m Potential Evapotranspiration (PET) Dataset for the Yangtze River Economic Belt, 2000&amp;ndash;2025</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.0121k</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset provides annual gridded potential evapotranspiration (PET) for the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2000 to 2025, comprising 26 annual layers. The data were generated in Google Earth Engine from the MODIS/061/MOD16A2GF product. The 8-day PET band was multiplied by its scale factor of 0.1 and summed for each calendar year from 1 January to the following 1 January to obtain annual PET. Values are reported in kg m⁻&amp;sup2; yr⁻&amp;sup1;, numerically equivalent to mm yr⁻&amp;sup1; when interpreted as water depth. Each layer is a single-band 500 m GeoTIFF in EPSG:4326 with float32 values; pixels outside the region are represented by non-finite values, and the GeoTIFFs do not explicitly define a NoData metadata value. Quality checks confirmed a complete 2000&amp;ndash;2025 sequence, consistent raster dimensions, geotransforms, projection, and resolution, valid values ranging from 517.40 to 2556.10 kg m⁻&amp;sup2; yr⁻&amp;sup1;, annual regional means from 1506.18 to 1591.51 kg m⁻&amp;sup2; yr⁻&amp;sup1;, and no valid pixels outside the Yangtze River Economic Belt boundary. The dataset supports studies of regional water cycling, drought monitoring, ecohydrological processes, and climate-change impacts.</dc:description>
