<dc:title>Data for "Untangling species boundaries among yellow-flower camellias (Theaceae) in China": Chloroplast genome and ITS alignments</dc:title>

<dc:description>This dataset accompanies the article “Untangling species boundaries among yellow-flower camellias (Theaceae) in China: an integrative systematic study.” It contains the chloroplast genome and nuclear ITS sequence alignment files used in the study.Data were generated from herbarium surveys, field sampling at type localities, and genome-skimming-derived chloroplast genomes and nuclear ITS sequences. The alignments are provided in FASTA format and include multiple yellow-flower Camellia taxa from China and northern Vietnam, together with outgroups. The chloroplast alignment was used to reconstruct maternal phylogenies, while the ITS alignment served for nuclear phylogenetic analysis. Together they support the detection of non-monophyly of yellow-flowered camellias, historical plastid capture, and fine-scale genetic partitions within species complexes.</dc:description>
