<dc:title>Annual 1 km Rice Planting Climate Suitability Index Dataset for the Middle and Lower Yangtze River, China, 1951–2025</dc:title>

<dc:description>This dataset provides annual gridded Rice Planting Climate Suitability Index data for the middle and lower Yangtze River region of China from 1951 to 2025, comprising 75 annual layers. Based on 1 km agroclimatic resource grids, it integrates growing-season temperature, precipitation, sunshine, and thermal conditions. The suitability of individual climate factors was standardized and combined to derive a 0–100 index, with higher values indicating more suitable climatic conditions for rice cultivation. Each layer is a single-band GeoTIFF at 1 km resolution in the WGS 84 Albers equal-area projection, retaining the original float32 index values and using −9999 as NoData. Quality checks confirmed a complete 1951–2025 sequence, consistent raster dimensions, grids, projection, and NoData settings across all 75 layers, an overall valid-value range of 2.1117–100, and no valid pixels outside the middle and lower Yangtze River boundary. The dataset supports agroclimatic resource assessment, rice planting-layout analysis, and studies of climate-change impacts in the region.</dc:description>
