<dc:title>Quantitative data of phytoplankton from 106 sampling sites in the Erhai Lake Basin, August 2024</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.012nd</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>In August 2024, a total of 106 sampling points were set up, including 74 river sampling points and 32 lake sampling points. The river sampling points were evenly distributed along 27 rivers in the Erhai Lake Basin, including the Luoshi River, Xinyong'an River, and Yangxi River. A 5 L organic glass water sampler was used to collect water samples at a depth of 0.5 m below the water surface. 500 mL of water samples were taken and placed in polyethylene bottles. Lugol's iodine solution was added on-site at a volume ratio of 1% -1.5% for fixation. After settling for 24 hours, siphon concentrate to 10 mL. Quantitative analysis: Take 120 &amp;mu; L of the concentrated sample after shaking, place it in a 20 mm &amp;times; 20 mm biological counting frame, and count and identify it under an optical microscope (40 &amp;times;). The classification and identification of phytoplankton refer to &amp;quot;Chinese Freshwater Algae: Systems, Classification, and Ecology&amp;quot; [16] and &amp;quot;Atlas of Common Freshwater Planktonic Algae in China&amp;quot; [17]. Generally, identification is done by species, and difficult to accurately identify groups are identified by genus.&amp;nbsp;</dc:description>
