<dc:title>Elevation-banded ECLAND simulation data and analysis code for the 26 August 2026 Rasuwa debris flow attribution study</dc:title>

<dc:description>This dataset contains all supporting data and code for the manuscript "Record-accumulation snowpack delayed to the monsoon peak preceded the 26 August 2026 Rasuwa debris flow: causal attribution by elevation-banded land-surface modeling" (under review at Geophysical Research Letters, manuscript 2026GL126841).The ECLAND land surface model (HTESSEL physics) is deployed in elevation bands: each of the 63 ERA5-Land 0.1° cells is partitioned by the GLO-30 DEM into three elevation terciles, yielding 189 columns (band means 3327/3879/4464 m; 29 glacier high bands are the analysis focus). The simulation is forced by hourly ERA5-Land fields from January 2021 to August 2026, initialized from a 10-year spin-up (results are insensitive to the initial condition; a snow-free start reproduces the delay within 2 days). The paper shows no thermal anomaly preceded the 26 August 2026 ice–rock avalanche and debris flow (90-day T2m −0.4 K); record October 2025 and April 2026 snowfall (+110%/+144%) built a May snowpack 91% above climatology whose melt-out was delayed 17.9 days into the monsoon peak (1029 mm July–August water input, the record); counterfactual integrations identify the October storm as the driver.Contents: analysis/ — JSON/CSV files underlying every quantitative claim (57-year melt-out delay index, monthly water/energy budgets, banded snow and per-year snow-off, counterfactual experiments, threshold/closure/initialization sensitivities, compound-event criteria and return period, GLOF inventory subset); code/ — the full Python processing chain (data retrieval, static fields, banded deployment, forcing generation, simulation setup, counterfactual forcing, diagnostics, figure generation); simulations/ — daily model output (npz) of the control and counterfactual integrations; static/ — elevation bands and cell–column mapping; README.md — file-by-file documentation. The dataset is restricted during peer review (available via a private share link) and will be made openly available upon paper acceptance.</dc:description>
