<dc:title>Interaction performance of physical and touchscreen controls during continuous flight tasks</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.013h8</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset contains the experimental data from a human&amp;ndash;computer interaction study comparing three flight-deck interaction modes: a physical control panel (PCP), a direct-entry touchscreen (DET), and an incremental-adjustment touchscreen (IAT). Thirty-one licensed pilots completed a continuous flight task in a Cessna 172 flight simulator, during which they performed 12 consecutive air traffic control instructions while maintaining the required flight state and adjusting flight parameters. The dataset includes completion time, subtask completion time, interaction throughput, heading and altitude root mean square error (RMSE), NASA-TLX workload ratings, and System Usability Scale (SUS) scores. The dataset also includes information on the interaction mode and experimental task sequence required for reproducing the analyses reported in the associated manuscript. The dataset is intended to support the analysis and replication of human&amp;ndash;computer interaction performance under continuous task demands, particularly the evaluation of physical and touchscreen interaction techniques in complex operational environments.</dc:description>
