<dc:title>Acute-phase lipid profile and coronary and treatment outcomes in children with Kawasaki disease: a single-center cohort dataset, Wuhan, China, 2013&amp;ndash;2025</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.0140d</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset underlies a single-center retrospective cohort of children hospitalized with Kawasaki disease (KD) at Wuhan Children's Hospital (Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology), China, between January 2013 and September 2025. Of 7371 children in the source cohort, 6882 with a documented fever-onset date and index intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment formed the analytic cohort; 3805 had a lipid panel during the index admission, and 2178 whose first panel was reported before the first IVIG infusion constituted the primary analysis set.The dataset contains: (1) demographic and clinical characteristics (age, sex, weight, incomplete KD status, calendar year, fever-onset date); (2) timing variables that align each measurement to the illness day at blood draw and to the start of the first IVIG infusion; (3) laboratory measures&amp;mdash;total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol (HDL-C) and LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) for all tested children, and apolipoprotein A1, apolipoprotein B and lipoprotein(a) in a subset&amp;mdash;together with acute-phase markers (high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, white blood cell count, platelet count, albumin, sodium, hemoglobin, alanine aminotransferase, total bilirubin); lipid panels were measured on a Roche cobas c 701 analyzer with enzymatic and direct homogeneous assays; (4) adjudicated coronary outcomes graded normal, dilation only (maximum Z score 2.0 to &amp;lt;2.5), or aneurysm-level involvement (Z &amp;ge;2.5 or reported aneurysm), reviewed by cardiologists blinded to laboratory data; and IVIG resistance (persistent or recrudescent fever at least 36 hours after the initial infusion requiring retreatment); and (5) Kobayashi score components.</dc:description>
