2024-05-14 Reaction times doi:10.57760/sciencedb.17715 en Reaction time data for this study was collected from publicly available official results posted on the World Athletics website (www.worldathletics.org). Results were gathered for the 100m, 100m hurdles, and 110m hurdles events across the last five world championships held in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2023. For consistency, results from the recent Olympic games were neglected as they use a different timing system. The World Athletics Championships uses a timing and false start system from Seiko while the Olympics uses a system from Omega. We focused on sprint events with a straightaway start.
