<dc:description>This dataset contains the processed data supporting the findings of the study, "From Water Limitation to Energy-Driven: A Shift in the Response Mechanism of Ecosystems in the Low-Latitude Highlands of Southwest China to Different Types of Compound Extreme Events."The data files include time series of anomalies for key variables: Gross Primary Production (GPP), root-zone available water (SM), and 2-meter air temperature (T2m). The dataset covers the low-latitude highlands of Southwest China and focuses on two distinct compound extreme events: the severe drought in winter-spring 2010 and the hot-and-dry event in late-spring 2019, compared against the 2001-2019 climatology. This dataset was specifically prepared for the Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis presented in the associated manuscript to investigate the mechanistic shifts in ecosystem response to different hydrothermal stresses.</dc:description>
