2026-04-07 Soil viruses on the Tibetan Plateau doi:10.57760/sciencedb.27600 en Dataset Generation & Processing Steps: Soil samples (n=126) were collected from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in May 2023. After removing the top 2 cm of soil, three parallel samples were taken from six land-use types (Forest, Farmland, Village, Greenbelt, Park, Residential area) across seven cities with varying urbanization levels (Linzhi, Shannan, Qamdo, Lhasa, Baoshan, Kunming, Chengdu). Samples were stored at 4°C, manually cleaned of roots/gravels, and sieved through a 10-mesh (2 mm) screen. Soil physicochemical properties (pH, moisture, organic matter) were measured. Total soil DNA and viral DNA were extracted using dedicated kits.
