<dc:title>Corrected Distribution Records and Species Richness Layer of Amphibians and Reptiles on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.27853</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset presents&amp;nbsp;corrected distribution records and species richness layer for amphibians and reptiles across the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP), compiled from species occurrence data sourced from four primary inputs:&amp;nbsp;field surveys conducted by our teams (2019-2024), literature synthesis,&amp;nbsp;museum records&amp;nbsp;(the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences), and the&amp;nbsp;Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). All records underwent rigorous&amp;nbsp;taxonomic correction and standardization&amp;nbsp;based on the most current classification systems to ensure accuracy, resulting in a consolidated dataset of&amp;nbsp;168 validated amphibian occurrence points and 189 validated reptile occurrence points. Utilizing these corrected points,&amp;nbsp;Species Distribution Models (SDMs)&amp;nbsp;were successfully generated for&amp;nbsp;163 plateau-dwelling amphibian species and 188 plateau-dwelling reptile species, effectively covering&amp;nbsp;97% of the herpetofauna documented on the QTP. These individual SDMs were then integrated&amp;nbsp;to produce the final species richness layer, depicting the spatial patterns of amphibian and reptile diversity across the plateau. This dataset provides a crucial, updated, and taxonomically verified resource for biogeographical studies, conservation planning, and assessing climate change impacts on the unique herpetofauna of the QTP.
