2026-06-16 A dataset of tourist source records for Motuo, Tibet in 2024 doi:10.57760/sciencedb.28971 en Motuo County, located in Linzhi City of the Tibet Autonomous Region, is situated within the core area of the Yarlung Zangbo Canyon and possesses complete vertical natural zones, as well as rich biodiversity. The complex and unique natural environment endows it with remarkably high natural and cultural tourism value. With the advancement of hydropower projects in the lower Yarlung Zangbo River, the potential for eco-friendly hydropower tourism will promote the diversified development of tourism in Motuo. Systematic and comprehensive tourist attributes data constitute an essential foundation for evidence-based tourism management and for optimizing the balance between conservation and development, and are further integrated into smart eco-tourism sustainability assessment and standardization frameworks. This dataset comprises 63,159 valid records of tourists visiting Motuo County in 2024, compiled from visitor registration data. This dataset contains information such as tourists’ gender, ethnicity, travel dates, and tourist source regions. After review and verification, the data are accurate and reliable. The dataset provides scientific support for ecological tourism planning, development, utilization, conservation and sustainable development assessment in southeastern Tibet.
