<dc:title>Physiological Responses and Elemental Crosstalk of Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) Under Multi-Element Potentially Toxic Elements Stress (2018-2022)</dc:title>

  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset has been updated from Version 2 to Version 3.Version 2 data supported the published manuscript Tripartite Regulation and Elemental Crosstalk in Phyllostachys edulis. (DOI:10.1016/j.envpol.2025.127526). Version 3 releases supplementary datasets exclusively for a second supporting manuscript: Phyllostachys edulis (Moso bamboo) as a multifunctional agent for uranium tailings remediation: physiological tolerance, phytoextraction efficacy, and ecological synergies. (DOI: 10.1080/15226514.2026.2683134)The newly supplemented data in V3 include initial and final U/Mn concentrations of topsoil in E1, E2, E3 units, together with full physiological, anatomical and multi-cycle growth metrics of moso bamboo cultivated in E1 (control), E2 (T1) and E3 (T2) treatments.Staged Data Release Roadmap (V3&amp;ndash;V6)This five-year mesocosm experiment contains multi-dimensional soil and plant datasets, which will be released in batches across successive versions:V1&amp;ndash;V2: Published soil background elements, microbial abundance, plant elemental concentrations and partial growth-physiology data of CK/E4/E6/E7;V3 (current): U &amp;amp; Mn initial/final topsoil contents and full plant physiological-morphological data of E1/E2/E3;V4 (to be released): Final 30-element concentrations of topsoil from CKn, CK, E4, E6, E6n, E7;V5 (to be released): Untargeted metabolomics and metagenomics data of final topsoil in E6 &amp;amp; E6n;V6 (to be released): Baseline physicochemical &amp;amp; physical structural indicators of original bulk red soil substrate; Final surface soil chemical indices including pH, CEC, TOC, humus, humic acid and fulvic acid; Complete soil physical property dataset for all sampling units: bulk density, particle density, porosity, and particle-size distribution (mechanical fraction grading); BCR sequential extraction geochemical fraction data of all 30 elements (initial &amp;amp; final topsoil samples). This experiment adopted a 3&amp;times;9 semi-closed cubic cell layout (1 m&amp;times;1 m&amp;times;1 m). Units CKn &amp;amp; E6n were left unplanted, while CK, E1&amp;ndash;E4, E6, E7 were planted with moso bamboo seedlings. Due to accidental mis-dosing of PTE powder during construction, the original multi-element gradient design was revised: E1/E2/E3 were only treated with combined U-Mn pollution, with E1 serving as the blank control for the binary pollution subgroup. In 2020, units E2 and E3 suffered a 10-day submergence event caused by extreme rainstorm, which is recorded as a natural disturbance factor for data interpretation. All units received only natural precipitation without fertilization throughout the four growth cycles.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This dataset derives from a five-year controlled experiment (2018-2022) using 21 independent semi-closed cubic cells (1&amp;times;1&amp;times;1 m) to simulate combined stress from uranium (U), manganese (Mn), arsenic (As), nickel (Ni), and lead (Pb). It comprehensively documents:Environmental Parameters: Soil elemental background (30 elements), microbial abundance.Plant Physiology: Photosynthesis (Pn, Gs, Fv/Fm), antioxidant enzymes (SOD, POD, CAT), membrane integrity (MDA, H₂O₂).Morphology &amp;amp; Growth: Fiber morphometrics, annual growth (height/diameter), ramet recruitment.Elemental Metabolism: Concentrations of 30 elements across five organs (root, trunk, leaf, branch, rhizome), bioconcentration (BCF) and translocation factors (TF).Analytical Protocols: Microwave digestion-ICP-MS parameters, QA/QC (LOD/LOQ).The data inform phytoremediation optimization and biogeochemical cycling studies, supporting a manuscript in&amp;nbsp;Environmental Pollution&amp;nbsp;(DOI: 10.1016/j.envpol.2025.127526).------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</dc:description>
