<dc:title>Mechanisms and Long-Term Evolution of River Valley Contractions after Impoundment in the Upstream Reservoir Area of Baihetan</dc:title>

<dc:description>This dataset compiles the key hydro-geological and geomechanical parameters used in the paper “Mechanisms and Long-Term Evolution of River Valley Contractions after Impoundment in the Upstream Reservoir Area of Baihetan.” It is provided as a single Excel file (.xlsx) with one sheet (Sheet1) organized into two blocks:Permeability zoning & hydraulic conductivityWhat it contains: named zones and structures around the Baihetan dam site (e.g., Moderate–high permeability, Moderate–low permeability, Weak permeability (upper/lower), Slightly permeable, Grout curtain, Arch dam), mapped faults (F14, F16–F20) and shear zones (e.g., C2–C9, C3-1, RS311, RS336).Variables / units: horizontal and vertical hydraulic conductivities recorded as Kh and Kv in m/s (e.g., Kh 1.50×10⁻⁴, Kv 2.01×10⁻⁵), allowing anisotropy to be represented explicitly.Rock-mass / structural-plane mechanical propertiesWhat it contains: representative parameters for rock-mass classes (Ⅱ, Ⅲ1, Ⅲ2, Ⅳ) and for faults and shear zones.Variables / units: density ρ (kg/m³), elastic modulus E (GPa), Poisson’s ratio μ, shear strength (MPa), and friction angle (°).Additional columns: the sheet also includes two pairs of modulus-related parameters labeled “(GPa)” and “(GPa·D)” for rock masses and discontinuities; these are provided as in the file and can be used as auxiliary stiffness/derived parameters in coupled modeling.Intended use:Block (1) feeds the 3-D seepage model by assigning Kh/Kv to permeability zones, the grout curtain, faults, and shear belts.Block (2) feeds the deformation model (valley-bank response) by assigning density and strength–stiffness parameters to rock-mass classes and to discontinuities, consistent with the mapped structures shown in the figures.</dc:description>
