<dc:description>Objective Observation of the effects of femtosecond laser-assisted and micro-incision phacoemulsification cataract surgery on ocular surface condition and dry eye symptoms. Methods Prospective cohort study. A total of 144 patients (144 eyes) with senile cataracts in our hospital from May 2022 to March 2023 were selected. 71 patients (71 eyes) chose the femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) group, undergoing FLACS, and 73 patients (73 eyes) chose the micro-incision phacoemulsification cataract surgery (MICS) group, undergoing MICS. Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UCDVA), best corrected distance visual acuity (BCDVA), non-invasive tear film break-up time (NIBUT), corneal fluorescein staining score (CFS), SchirmerⅠ test (SⅠt), and ocular surface disease index (OSDI) questionnaire scores were observed before surgery and at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months after surgery. </dc:description>
