<dc:title>Odd-parity excited levels of atomic gadolinium in the 28,700–31,500 cm⁻¹ region</dc:title>

<dc:description>The odd parity excited states of gadolinium (Gd) atoms in the energy range of 28700-31500 cm-1 were studied using three color three-step resonance ionization spectroscopy. 101 interference peaks were identified and eliminated through spectral scanning without the first laser beam (λ 1). Subsequently, a total of 40 odd parity excited states were observed through spectral scanning starting from 9 even parity low energy levels, of which 19 were reported for the first time. By using the electric dipole transition selection rule, the unique total angular momentum (J value) of 39 energy levels was successfully identified. The comparison with previous research results confirms the reliability of the data in this study, with an estimated absolute energy measurement accuracy better than ± 0.1 cm-1. This dataset mainly consists of two parts: firstly, Sheet 1 of the dataset presents the results of scanning all 9 even parity low excited states. For each transition, the wavelength, normalized intensity, corresponding energy level position, and uncertainty of the scanned spectral peaks are given. The average energy level position and uncertainty, total angular momentum of energy levels, and comparison with literature data are also provided based on the comprehensive scanning results. In Sheet 2, we present all 101 monochromatic transition interference peaks discovered during the scanning process, with the main information being the wavelength, normalized intensity, and corresponding single photon energy of the transitions. We also provide possible upper and lower energy levels for 91 of the transition processes. </dc:description>
