<dc:title>College Students' Career Cognition Ability Survey Dataset</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.35007</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset is derived from a questionnaire survey on the occupational cognition status of undergraduate students in universities in southwestern China. The survey aims to explore in depth the phenomenon and causes of cognitive dissonance among college students in terms of vocational knowledge, decision-making actions, and information acquisition. The data was collected in December 2025 in the form of an online questionnaire, and a total of 543 valid questionnaires were collected. The questionnaire mainly covers students' understanding of official knowledge such as the national occupational classification system, career exploration behavior (from interest to practice), and preferences for career information acquisition channels.&amp;nbsp; The sample covers students from freshmen to juniors. Considering that sophomore students are in a critical period of career cognition and exploration, the sample mainly consists of sophomore students (86.37%). Some freshmen and juniors are interested in participating in career cognition, which can better reflect the general situation of undergraduate students' career cognition in the region. The dataset has undergone strict anonymization and only contains demographic information without any personal identification.&amp;nbsp; This dataset provides valuable first-hand empirical data for studying the career development of college students, evaluating the effectiveness of vocational education in universities, and formulating educational policies. Especially suitable for in-depth analysis in fields such as vocational cognition theory, education and employment integration policies.&amp;nbsp; In February 2026, in order to verify the structural validity of the core dimensions of the survey data on college students' vocational cognitive abilities, the dataset production team conducted a structural validity test on the questionnaire results and uploaded the questionnaire structural validity analysis report for users' reference.&amp;nbsp;</dc:description>
