<dc:title>Dataset on diameter at breast height, tree height and volume measurements of Toona ciliata</dc:title>
<dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.35612</dc:identifier>

<dc:description>This dataset contains quantitative measurements of growth and yield attributes of Toona ciliata, an economically important timber species widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. The data were collected from subtropical forest ecosystems of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, India, and are intended to support forestry research, biomass estimation, and growth and yield modeling studies. The dataset comprises three major variables:Diameter at Breast Height (DBH): DBH was measured at 1.3 m above ground level and recorded in centimeters (cm). It represents the girth of the tree trunk and serves as a standard indicator of tree size, stand structure, and growth performance.Tree Height: Total tree height was measured from the ground surface to the topmost point of the tree and recorded in meters (m). This parameter reflects vertical growth and provides insights into site quality and productivity.Tree Volume:Individual tree volume, expressed in cubic meters (m³), was estimated using DBH and height through standard allometric or volume equations. Tree volume is an important indicator of timber yield potential and overall biomass accumulation. The dataset includes multiple observations obtained from different trees and sampling locations across the subtropical region of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. These measurements can be utilized for:Developing allometric relationships among DBH, height, and tree volumeEstimating above-ground biomass and carbon stockEvaluating growth patterns and stand productivitySupporting sustainable forest management and yield prediction modelsConducting ecological and silvicultural studies in subtropical Himalayan regionsThis dataset provides valuable baseline information for researchers, forest managers, and policymakers working in the fields of forestry, ecology, carbon sequestration, and sustainable resource management.</dc:description>
