<dc:title>Dataset of Monthly Nitrogen Fertilizer and Compound Fertilizer Application and Ammonia Emissions at Provincial Level in China</dc:title>
<dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.35622</dc:identifier>

<dc:description>Nitrogen fertilizer application is a key source of agricultural ammonia (NH₃) emissions, and accurately quantifying its spatiotemporal distribution is essential for pollution control and atmospheric environmental management. Based on an optimized agricultural zoning framework, this study integrated multi-source data and combined dynamic prediction models with multiple regression models to allocate monthly fertilizer application at the provincial level. The emission factor method was then employed to estimate corresponding NH₃ emissions. Ultimately, a high-resolution monthly dataset of nitrogen and compound fertilizer applications and their associated NH₃ emissions across 31 provinces in mainland China from 2014 to 2024 was constructed. Dataset Information:Data Files:Dataset of Monthly Nitrogen Fertilizer and Compound Fertilizer Application at the Provincial Level in Mainland China (2014–2024).xlsxDataset of Monthly Ammonia Emissions from Nitrogen Fertilizer and Compound Fertilizer at the Provincial Level in Mainland China (2014–2024).xlsxTemporal Resolution: MonthlySpatial Resolution: Provincial-level administrative regionsData Content: Each Excel file contains worksheets for nitrogen and compound fertilizer application from 2014 to 2024 (22 worksheets in total). Each worksheet consists of 32 rows (header row + 31 provincial regions in mainland China) and 15 columns (Province name, Name of province, Abbreviation, and data for 12 months). The dataset is provided in Excel format and can be read, displayed, viewed, and statistically analyzed using software such as MATLAB, Python, R, and QGIS.</dc:description>
