<dc:title>A Dataset of Cropland Cover on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau during the Qing Dynasty</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.35675</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>The agricultural production activities on the Qinghai&amp;minus;Xizang Plateau have a long history, with a geographical range of 25 &amp;deg; 59 &amp;prime; 43.74 &amp;Prime; N &amp;ndash; 39 &amp;deg; 59 &amp;prime; 20.01 &amp;Prime; N, 73 &amp;deg; 29 &amp;prime; 56.26 &amp;Prime; E &amp;ndash; 104 &amp;deg; 25 &amp;prime; 20.95 &amp;Prime; E. This dataset estimates the total amount of cultivated land on the Qinghai&amp;minus;Xizang Plateau during the Qing Dynasty based on regional historical literature data, and uses a grid based allocation model that combines human factors and land suitability to allocate the total amount of cultivated land to the grid. A 1 km &amp;times; 1 km resolution cultivated land coverage dataset for the Qinghai&amp;minus;Xizang Plateau during the Qing Dynasty was developed. Selecting the Iron Tiger Inventory with county-level cultivated land area statistical data from the Qing Dynasty as a reference, the research results of this dataset were validated, and the validation results showed an error within 15%. The reason for the error may be that there is a deviation between the collected data of human activity sites and the actual historical conditions. In addition, compared with the farmland data of the same period in the international dataset HYDE3.2, the farmland coverage dataset of the Qing Dynasty on the Qinghai&amp;minus;Xizang Plateau developed in this study is more in line with the historical facts of agricultural development on the Qinghai&amp;minus;Xizang Plateau in the Qing Dynasty in terms of total farmland and spatial distribution, and the spatial accuracy is also significantly better than the international dataset HYDE 3.2. The Qing Dynasty Qinghai&amp;minus;Xizang Plateau cultivated land coverage dataset includes the Qing Dynasty Qinghai&amp;minus;Xizang Plateau cultivated land coverage data, with a size of 516 KB.&amp;nbsp;</dc:description>
