<dc:title>An fNIRS hyperscanning dataset on teacher-student synchrony during mathematical instructions in school-aged children</dc:title>

  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>In this work, we present a dataset of functional Near-infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) hyperscanning recordings collected from 65 teacher-student groups engaged in mathematics instruction, during which third-grade students learned fractions and perimeter in two separate sessions. Among the 65 groups, 58 comprised one teacher and two students&amp;mdash;triadic hyperscanning, and 7 comprised one teacher and one student&amp;mdash;dyadic hyperscanning, yielding a total of 125 sessions (111 triads). The dataset includes raw optical intensity files, preprocessed hemoglobin concentration data, event markers, source-detector geometry, questionnaire measures, and demographic information. This dataset may serve as a unique resource for testing hypotheses related to math learning, how teacher-student and student-student neural synchrony may moderate classroom dynamics or predict students&amp;rsquo; learning outcomes, and for developing new hyperscanning data analysis tool.</dc:description>
