<dc:title>Ecotoxicological Dataset of Municipal WWTP Effluents: Bioassay Data on Vibrio fischeri, Phaeodactylum tricornutum, and Vicia faba Root Tips</dc:title>

<dc:description>This dataset was constructed by integrating published academic literature data with field survey and collaborative research data, aiming to provide standardized multi-endpoint modeling data for ecological toxicity prediction and risk assessment of WWTP effluents. For the literature data component, systematic screening was conducted strictly following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, comprising four stages: identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Core search terms included "luminescent bacteria inhibition rate," "Phaeodactylum tricornutum toxicity," "Vicia faba root tip micronucleus rate," as well as key water quality parameters such as chemical oxygen demand (COD), total organic carbon (TOC), total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP). Systematic searches were performed across Web of Science Core Collection, CNKI, Google Scholar, and Elsevier ScienceDirect, with the retrieval time span covering each database's inception through April 2025. To supplement sample size, partial open-access databases and raw data tables were additionally incorporated. For the field survey component, supplementary data were obtained through collaboration with domestic and international environmental protection enterprises. Sampling sites covered three continents—Asia, Europe, and America—specifically including: Beijing and Shanghai in China (Asia); Venice (Italy), Beggen (Luxembourg), Brno (Czech Republic), and Metz (France) in Europe; Sucumbíos (Ecuador) and North Carolina (USA) in America. All water samples were analyzed for the above physicochemical parameters using standardized methods, concurrently subjected to three categories of bioassays: (1) luminescent bacteria acute toxicity test; (2) Phaeodactylum tricornutum growth inhibition test; and (3) Vicia faba root tip micronucleus test. After rigorous data cleaning, standardization, and cross-validation preprocessing, the data were integrated into three independent modeling datasets:Luminescent bacteria inhibition dataset: 1,024 samples × 7 featuresPhaeodactylum tricornutum TU dataset: 1,690 samples × 8 featuresVicia faba micronucleus rate dataset: 876 samples × 5 featuresDetailed statistical descriptions and sample compositions of each dataset are provided in Appendix A.[File Description]luminescent_bacteria_1024.csv: Modeling dataset for luminescent bacteria inhibition (1,024 rows × 7 columns)phaeodactylum_tu_1690.csv: Modeling dataset for Phaeodactylum tricornutum toxicity unit (1,690 rows × 8 columns)vicia_faba_mn_876.csv: Modeling dataset for Vicia faba root tip micronucleus rate (876 rows × 5 columns)data_dictionary.xlsx: Variable documentation including field definitions, units, analytical methods, and data source annotations[Usage Notes]This dataset is suitable for constructing multi-endpoint biotoxicity prediction models of WWTP effluents, ecological risk assessment, and cross-regional water quality-toxicity correlation analysis.
