2026-05-15 Coding Data of Students' Critical Thinking Behaviors in the Human-AI Collaborative Writing doi:10.57760/sciencedb.37189 en The data includes the encoding of dialogue data between students and generative AI (GAI) during collaborative news writing under two different GAI conditions. The two GAI conditions are: (1) Standard GAI, which directly responds to user needs without cognitive guidance; and (2) Heuristic GAI, which uses prompts to constrain the interaction mechanism of GAI, that is, it provides heuristic guidance based on user needs to encourage users to actively decompose tasks and engagement cognitively. The encoding scheme includes two major categories of behavior classification: (1) critical thinking behavior (CTB): based on CCTST contextual design, fine-grained including interpretation, evaluation, analysis, inference, explanation, and self-regulation; and (2) non-critical thinking behavior (N-CTB): including direct requests or other non-critical thinking prompts in the task scenario, such as writing skills.
