  <dc:title>NTF adaption to fire</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.37694</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset is derived from a vertical migration experiment of predatory nematode-trapping fungi (NTF), aiming to record the detection of target species under various treatments, sampling times, soil layers, flower pots, and plates. The experiment dynamically tracked the spatio-temporal distribution changes of NTF along the soil profile by artificially constructing soil profiles and applying simulated fire treatments. The original data was organized in a long table format, with each row corresponding to an independent observation record. The main fields include: treatment (treatment group), day (sampling time relative to the fire treatment, unit: days), species (name of the target species), depth (soil layer depth, unit: cm), pot (repeated number of flower pots), plate (repeated number of plates), and detected (detection result, 0 = not detected, 1 = detected). The time information represents discrete sampling days, and the spatial information represents soil vertical stratification. The current data includes three depth layers: 0&amp;ndash;5 cm, 5&amp;ndash;10 cm, and 10&amp;ndash;20 cm.&amp;nbsp; The experiment set up 3 replicates for each treatment &amp;times; time &amp;times; soil layer combination. Each pot was equipped with 3 bait plates, so there were a total of 9 plates recording for the same combination. The original plate-level data could be further summarized into pot-level or treatment-level data tables, which were used to generate derived results such as the first detection time, surface reconstruction status, and time-depth distribution map. The &amp;quot;detected&amp;quot; in the data indicates the presence/absence information, not the absolute abundance. The potential errors in this recording method mainly come from sample heterogeneity, plate culture conditions, differences in the activity of the bait nematodes, and observation and interpretation errors. However, multiple pots and multiple plate replicates help to reduce the influence of accidental errors.&amp;nbsp; This dataset is in a common table format (CSV), which can be read and processed using Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice Calc, R or Python. In addition to the original tablet-level data, the data package can also include summary data tables by flower pot, summary data tables for heat map drawing, and derived data tables such as the first detection time and surface reconstruction status. If there are missing values in the data, it usually indicates that the sample has not been fully tested, the tablet is contaminated, or the record is missing. The specific circumstances should be based on the records in the corresponding data file.</dc:description>
