<dc:title>Study on Catalytic Performance of Sulfided Fe/CAC Catalyst in Direct Coal Liquefaction</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.38636</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>Direct coal liquefaction (DCL) is one of the important approaches to achieve clean and efficient utilization of coal. The development of high-efficiency catalysts can effectively reduce the constraints of reaction conditions and improve economic benefits. In this paper, a one-step in-situ loading, calcination and reduction method was employed to prepare sulfurized Fe/CAC (coal-based activated carbon) catalysts. Sub-bituminous coal (EK) from the Ehuobulake coalfield in Xinjiang was used as the carbon support, Fe(NO3)3 as the iron precursor, and elemental sulfur as the sulfiding agent. The catalytic performance was investigated in the direct hydrogenation liquefaction of Zhundong-Xigou coal (XG). The experimental results of direct hydrogenation liquefaction showed that the unsulfurized Fe/CAC catalyst system afforded a conversion rate of 88.29% and an oil yield of 73.02% for XG coal. After sulfidation treatment of Fe/CAC at 250 &amp;deg;C and 1 MPa, the conversion rate and oil yield of XG coal increased to 96.8% and 81.1%, respectively. Compared with the unsulfurized Fe/CAC catalyst, sulfidation treatment significantly enhanced the conversion rate and oil yield of direct coal liquefaction, leading to a remarkable improvement in catalytic performance. In addition, during the preparation of sulfurized Fe/CAC catalysts, the conversion rate and oil yield of XG coal both showed a decreasing trend to varying degrees with the increase of sulfidation pressure or the addition of hydrogen-donor solvent (tetrahydronaphthalene).</dc:description>
