<dc:title>Optical Properties, and Continuous-Wave Laser Performance of a Novel Yb:Ca(Y,Lu)AlO4 Disordered Laser Crystal</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.38811</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>A novel Yb:Ca(Y,Lu)AlO4 (Yb:CYLA) disordered laser crystal with the highest full width at half maximum (FWHM) of emission cross-section spectra reported for Yb-doped laser crystals until now was directionally grown using the Czochralski method. Its physical and chemical properties and polarized spectra were investigated. The maximum absorption cross-sections were 7.98 &amp;times; 10-20 cm2 (&amp;pi;-polarization) and 2.67 &amp;times; 10-20 cm2 (&amp;sigma;-polarization), and the peak emission cross-sections were 0.72 &amp;times; 10-20 cm2 (&amp;pi;) and 0.93 &amp;times; 10-20 cm2 (&amp;sigma;). A bandwidth of 94 nm in the &amp;sigma;-polarization emission spectra was observed. A continuous-wave laser experiment was performed, and a maximum output power of 3.6 W was achieved with a slope efficiency of 23.7%. The Yb:CYLA disordered laser crystal is proved to be a promising material for ultrafast lasers.&amp;nbsp;</dc:description>
