<dc:title>Enhanced the Water and Sulfur-Tolerance of MnCeOx Catalysts Modified by W and Sm in Low-Temperature Flue Gas deNOx Process</dc:title>

<dc:description>Large amounts of nitrogen oxides (NOx) are emitted from waste incineration flue gas, which may cause acid rain, global warming, and adverse effects on human health. Under practical conditions, low-temperature flue gas typically contains a high concentration of H2O together with a small amount of SO2, and their coexistence often leads to severe deactivation of SCR catalysts. Therefore, in this study MnCeOx catalysts with good low-temperature activity were taken as the base system, W and Sm synergistic modification was introduced to prepare SmWMnCeOx quaternary catalysts, aiming to suppress N2O formation and enhance the water and sulfur tolerance. The effects of different W and Sm loadings on the low-temperature NH3-SCR performance were investigated. In long-term stability tests under coexisting H2O and SO2, the Sm0.1W0.15Mn3Ce1Ox catalyst exhibits outstanding durability. Its NOx conversion remains at 94% after time on stream for 47 h in the low-temperature range of 120~140 oC and 15% high water vapor containing sulfur. Multiple characterization approaches demonstrate that the introduction of W and Sm increases the amount of acid sites especially the Lewis acid sites, which is in favor of the NH3 adsorption in the presence of water and suppresses the undesired NH3 oxidation side reaction. Meanwhile, the doping of W and Sm in MnCeOx increases the content of Mn3+ and weakens the excessive oxidation ability of the catalyst as well as its sensitivity to SO2, leading to suppressed formation of metal sulfate species. In addition, the generation of chemically adsorbed oxygen species is promoted, which is favorable for the low-temperature NH3-SCR reaction. As a result, the synergistic modification of W and Sm markedly enhances the durability of Mn-Ce catalysts in low-temperature deNOx process.</dc:description>
