<dc:title>Small for gestational age infants in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University, 2020-2026: a single-center retrospective cohort study</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.39467</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset is from a single center retrospective cohort study, which included 206 premature infants born between January 2020 and June 2025 in the obstetrics department of Xuzhou Medical University Affiliated Hospital and transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit. According to the last prenatal umbilical artery Doppler ultrasound result, they were divided into a normal umbilical blood flow group (n=109) and an abnormal umbilical blood flow group (n=97). To control for confounding bias, R language software was used for analysis, and propensity score matching method was used to match 1:1 (caliper value 0.2). Finally, 53 cases in each group, totaling 106 cases, were included in the analysis. The collected data includes general information of the child (birth gestational age, birth weight, gender, 1-minute and 5-minute Apgar scores), maternal perinatal data (cesarean section, advanced age, gestational hypertension, severe preeclampsia, prenatal glucocorticoid use, etc.), and clinical outcome indicators (length of hospital stay, discharge weight, age specific weight/head circumference/body length z-score at 40 weeks of corrected gestational age, time to complete enteral nutrition, duration of parenteral nutrition, respiratory support time, neonatal composite adverse outcomes, intraventricular hemorrhage, feeding intolerance, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, hemodynamic patent ductus arteriosus, ectopic growth retardation, neonatal hypoglycemia, etc.). At the inclusion stage of this study, cases with incomplete clinical or ultrasound data were excluded. In the final analysis dataset, all key variables had no missing values, and the intergroup balance was validated by standardized mean difference (SMD&amp;lt;0.10) after propensity score matching. Continuous variables are all recorded in the electronic medical record system, accurate to the original recording unit. This dataset can be used for secondary analysis or meta-analysis in the field of perinatal medicine on the relationship between small for gestational age infants, umbilical blood flow Doppler, and neonatal prognosis. Users should note that this study is a single center retrospective design and cannot completely eliminate the influence of unmeasured confounding factors. Extrapolation should be interpreted with caution based on population characteristics.&amp;nbsp;</dc:description>
