<dc:title>Global Ocean Front Probability, Uncertainty, and Front Line Dataset (2001-2024)</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.40151</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>Global Ocean Front Probability, Uncertainty, and Front Line Dataset provides daily global ocean front probability fields, uncertainty estimates, and vectorized front-line products derived from NOAA Coral Reef Watch (CRW) Version 3.1 daily 5-km Sea Surface Temperature (SST) observations during 2001--2024.The dataset is organized into three complementary data products:1.NetCDF ProductsDaily global front probability and uncertainty fields are provided in annual NetCDF files:netcdf_files/
├── global_front_probability_uncertainty_2001.nc
├── global_front_probability_uncertainty_2002.nc
├── ...
└── global_front_probability_uncertainty_2024.nc
Each file contains:1) Ensemble: front occurrence probability (0--1)2) Uncertainty: inter-algorithm standard deviation (0--1)3) Latitude and Longitude coordinates4) Daily temporal dimension2.GeoTIFF ProductsMonthly climatological composites are provided as GeoTIFF files:geotiff_files/
├── 200101_monthly_probability.tif
├── 200101_monthly_uncertainty.tif
├── ...
└── 202412_monthly_uncertainty.tif
These files facilitate visualization and GIS-based analysis.3.GeoJSON Front-Line ProductsVectorized ocean fronts are distributed as GeoJSON files organized by ocean partition and date:geojson_files/
├── 01/
│ ├── 20010101.geojson
│ ├── 20010102.geojson

Each GeoJSON file contains multiple front-line features represented by geographic coordinates. Every front includes:1) id: unique front identifier2) probability: mean front probability along the front axis3) length (km): front length in kilometersThese vector products enable direct frontal tracking, statistical analysis, and integration with geographic information systems. The dataset covers the global ocean between 60&amp;deg;S and 60&amp;deg;N at a spatial resolution of approximately 5 km (0.05&amp;deg;) and spans 24 years of continuous daily observations. Probability fields represent the consensus of five independent frontal detection algorithms, while uncertainty fields quantify methodological disagreement among detectors. Together, the raster and vector products provide a comprehensive framework for investigating the spatial distribution, temporal variability, and structural characteristics of ocean fronts on regional to global scales.</dc:description>
