Axial parenchyma diffuse, diffuse in aggregates of 1-6 cells, with short uniseriate lines (Figure 3, A, B). Rays exclusively multiseriate, 5-7 rays per tangential mm. commonly 1-2 mm high; 5-9 seriate; 110-169 &amp;mu;m wide (Figure 3, C). Rays are weakly heterocellular with 1 or 2 rows of square marginal cells. Fibre thin-walled, non-septate, r.d 12-21 &amp;mu;m (average 17 &amp;mu;m)- t.d 20-35 &amp;mu;m (average 26 &amp;mu;m) wide (Figure 3, D).</dc:description>
