<dc:description>Clinical data of 16 patients with liver failure admitted to Taiyuan Central Hospital from January 2023 to March 2026 were retrospectively collected. A total of 36 sessions of half-dose PE combined with DPMAS were performed. Liver function parameters and coagulation indicators before and after treatment were compared. Subgroup analysis was conducted according to initial treatment (16 sessions) versus repeated treatment (20 sessions) to compare the efficacy between the two groups. The 90 days survival status of the patients was followed up. After treatment, ALT, AST and bilirubin decreased significantly compared with those before treatment (P < 0.05), while albumin, hemoglobin, and coagulation indicators showed no statistically significant differences (P > 0.05). Subgroup analysis revealed that baseline bilirubin levels between the initial treatment group and the repeated treatment group were not statistically different (P > 0.05). Both groups exhibited significant reductions in total bilirubin after treatment (P < 0.05), and there was no statistically significant difference in efficacy between the two groups (P > 0.05). Adverse reactions were predominantly mild, and no severe adverse events occurred. Among the 16 patients, 7 survived to 90 days after treatment, and none underwent liver transplantation. </dc:description>
