<dc:title>Dataset of Soil Phosphorus-Cycling Functional Genes and Physicochemical Properties</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.43305</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset was generated from a soil survey and metagenomic sequencing study conducted under different land-use types in the Nanshan area of Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China. The investigated land-use types include grassland, forest land, and cropland. The dataset contains vegetation and soil physicochemical properties, including soil water content, soil organic carbon, soil total nitrogen, soil total phosphorus, soil texture, and aboveground biomass, as well as the relative abundances of phosphorus-cycling functional genes and microbial diversity indices. Soil physicochemical properties were determined using conventional soil analytical methods, while phosphorus-cycling functional gene data were obtained through soil metagenomic sequencing and functional annotation. The data are provided in Excel format, with rows representing individual soil samples and columns representing land-use type, sample identification, soil physicochemical properties, microbial diversity indices, and the relative abundances of phosphorus-cycling functional genes. This dataset supports analyses of differences in soil phosphorus-cycling functional genes among land-use types, correlations with environmental variables, and structural equation modeling. Data quality control and missing-value checks were conducted, and the variable names, units, and grouping information are described in the accompanying data documentation.</dc:description>
