<dc:title>Standard EEG-fNIRS Artifact Benchmark: simultaneous EEG-fNIRS recordings of 12 standardized artifact tasks</dc:title>
 <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.43781</dc:identifier>

<dc:description>This dataset provides simultaneous electroencephalography (EEG) and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) recordings from eight healthy adults, intended as an open benchmark for artifact-removal methods. EEG was recorded with a 32-channel BioSemi system at 1000 Hz using the international 10-20 montage; fNIRS was recorded concurrently with a NIRx NIRScout system (16 channels, 760 and 850 nm) at 11 Hz. Each session begins with a resting baseline and includes twelve standardized artifact-generating tasks spanning ocular, myogenic, motion, and physiological classes. Recordings are raw and unprocessed, with time-stamped task markers for each trial. Files follow a sub-<ID>_trial-<NN>_<modality> naming convention. Full documentation of the structure, marker vocabulary, and recording parameters is included. The dataset accompanies the BiCAR study on bidirectional EEG-fNIRS artifact removal.</dc:description>
