<dc:title>Research dataset on the geochemical characteristics of platinum group elements in Xuechi Ping</dc:title>
<dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.43896</dc:identifier>

<dc:description>This dataset comprises systematic geochemical and geochronological analyses of quartz diorite and quartz monzonite porphyry from the Xuejiping area in northwestern Yunnan. The contents are as follows:Zircon U–Pb ages: LA-ICP-MS dating indicates emplacement ages of ~204–225 Ma (Late Triassic), with a weighted mean age of approximately 216 Ma, belonging to Indosinian magmatic activity.Major elements: SiO₂ contents mostly range from 50% to 65%, classifying the rocks as intermediate to felsic. High loss on ignition (LOI) values in some samples indicate significant alteration.Trace elements: The rocks are enriched in light rare earth elements (LREEs) and exhibit negative Eu anomalies. Comprehensive data are available for high-field-strength elements (HFSEs: Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf) and large-ion lithophile elements (LILEs: Rb, Sr, Ba).Platinum-group elements (PGEs): Total PGE concentrations are low (0.66–3.63 ng/g), with highly variable Pd/Pt ratios.Mineralization indicators: Some samples show anomalously high Mo, Pb, and Zn contents, suggesting potential for Cu-polymetallic mineralization.Auxiliary parameters: Histograms of oxygen fugacity, temperature, and water content are provided to constrain magmatic conditions. The data have been validated using reference materials (e.g., WGB-1, UMT-1) and are reliable for studying magmatic evolution and metallogenic settings in this region.</dc:description>
