2026-08-04 Search Strategy and PRISMA Log doi:10.57760/sciencedb.45059 en This dataset contains the search strategy and PRISMA screening log for a systematic review and narrative synthesis examining the relationship between institutional or university-facilitated support and acculturative stress among international students in higher education. The dataset is intended to improve the transparency, reproducibility, and auditability of the review process.The dataset documents the bibliographic search process across Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, PubMed, and Google Scholar via Publish or Perish. It includes the search sources, search terms, search dates, initial records identified, de-duplication records, screening decisions, eligibility assessment, and the final set of included studies. In total, 400 records were identified through database and supplementary searches. After de-duplication, title and abstract screening, and full-text eligibility assessment, five studies met the inclusion criteria for the review.The PRISMA log records the flow of studies through each stage of the review, including identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and inclusion. It also documents reasons for exclusion where applicable. A second reviewer independently checked a random 20% subset of screening decisions, and no final eligibility decision changed after consensus discussion. This information is included to support the reliability of the study selection process.The dataset does not contain copyrighted full-text articles. Instead, it provides review-process metadata, search records, and screening information needed to verify how the final evidence base was constructed. The dataset may be useful for researchers conducting systematic reviews on international student wellbeing, acculturative stress, institutional support, and higher education support systems. It can also serve as a methodological reference for documenting search strategies and PRISMA-based screening decisions in small-sample systematic reviews.Users of this dataset should note that the review identified only a small number of eligible empirical studies. Therefore, the dataset reflects the limited and fragmented nature of the available evidence rather than a comprehensive quantitative evidence base.
