<dc:description>A total of 154 participants were enrolled in this study. Among them, 57 were male, with an average age of 42.17 ± 17.18 years, and all were right-handed. Based on clinical diagnosis and scores from relevant scales (HAMD, MMSE, MoCA), they were divided into four groups: the healthy control group (Healthy Control, HC, n=51), the mild depression group (Mild MDD, n=40), the moderate depression group (Moderate MDD, n=21), and the severe depression group (Severe MDD, n=42). None of the participants had other serious physical or neurological diseases. All enrolled patients had their potentially affecting brain electrical activity psychotropic drugs discontinued for at least one week before brain electrical recording, and no antidepressants, anxiolytics, sedative-hypnotics, or benzodiazepines were used during the brain electrical recording. The study purpose was fully explained, and informed consent was signed by all participants. This experiment was reviewed by the Medical Ethics Committee of the Second Hospital of Jinhua City, and the experimental ethics number was 2024-01-006.</dc:description>
