<dc:title>Soil Carbon, Nitrogen, and Phosphorus Contents and Their Stoichiometric Ratios in the Heihe River Source Region of the Qilian Mountains</dc:title>

<dc:description>This dataset is derived from the study of soil carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus spatial differentiation conducted in the Heihe source area of the Qilian Mountains from 2023 to 2025. The research area is located in Qilian County, Qinghai Province, with geographical coordinates of approximately 98 ° 30 ′ -99 ° 30 ′ E longitude and 37 ° 45 ′ -38 ° 30 ′ N. Five sampling gradients were set up along the coast (≤ 3000 m, 3000-3300 m, 3300-3600 m, 3600-3900 m, ≥ 3900 m), and soil profile samples (0-110 cm) were collected according to the soil occurrence layer within each altitude gradient. A total of 362 soil samples were collected. Indoor analysis and determination of soil organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), clay, silt, and sand content, and calculation of ecological stoichiometry indicators such as carbon to nitrogen ratio (C: N), carbon to phosphorus ratio (C: P), and nitrogen to phosphorus ratio (N: P); Simultaneously measure basic physical and chemical properties such as soil moisture content (SWC), pH, and bulk density (BD), and extract environmental factor data such as latitude and longitude, altitude, annual average temperature (Tea), annual average precipitation (PCP), and normalized vegetation index (NDVI) from the sample points. The dataset consists of one data file stored in Excel (. xlsx) format. The data table contains a total of 71 records (corresponding to 362 soil samples), with row labels as sample numbers and column labels as follows: sampling point number, altitude gradient, soil depth (cm), SOC (g/kg), TN (g/kg), TP (g/kg), SWC (%), pH, BD (g/cm ³), clay particles, silt particles, sand particles, longitude (° E), latitude (° N), Tem (℃) PCP（mm）、NDVI、LHGI。 This dataset can directly support research on soil nutrient cycling and C-N-P coupling/decoupling mechanisms in the high-altitude regions of the Qilian Mountains. </dc:description>
