<dc:title>Impact of reclamation of Cyperus malaccensis wetland into aquaculture ponds on soil denitrification potential in the Minjiang River Estuary</dc:title>

<dc:description>Reclamation and aquaculture, as the main driving force for the degradation and loss of coastal wetlands, significantly affect the nitrogen biogeochemical cycling processes in coastal areas. This study focuses on the Cyperus malaccense salt marsh wetland at the mouth of the Minjiang River and its land-based aquaculture ponds. The acetylene inhibition method was used to analyze the impact of salt marsh wetland reclamation as a aquaculture pond on soil denitrification potential characteristics. The relevant dataset includes basic physical and chemical properties of soil and its pore water, abundance of microbial genes related to soil denitrification function, and soil denitrification potential data. This dataset can provide important basic data support for a deeper understanding of the ecological effects of reclamation projects, evaluating changes in nitrogen removal function in coastal wetlands, and developing ecological restoration strategies for returning wetlands to their original state. </dc:description>
