<dc:title>Wetland gross primary productivity in China</dc:title>
<dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.cjae.00231</dc:identifier>

<dc:description>Extreme climate events can substantially affect wetland gross primary productivity (GPP) and the stability of wetland carbon sinks by rapidly altering hydrothermal conditions. However, national-scale evidence on how wetland GPP responds to different types of extreme climate events across China remains insufficient to support adaptive wetland ecosystem management. This study focused on wetland vegetation across China and combined sensitivity analysis with partial correlation analysis to quantify the response intensity and dominant controls of wetland GPP to extreme climate events during 2001-2023. Lag analysis was further conducted to characterize delayed responses, and distributed lag models were applied to assess the duration and direction of the persistent effects of extreme climate events. This dataset contains gross primary productivity (GPP) data for wetlands in China from 2001 to 2023, with a spatial resolution of 500 m and a temporal resolution of 8 days. The original GPP raster data were uniformly reprojected to the WGS_1984_Albers projection and masked using the wetland extent derived from the China_Wetlands dataset. The data are stored in a sparse NetCDF format that retains only wetland pixels. The dataset contains 1,058 time steps and provides projected coordinates, row and column indices, start and end dates, calendar years, period numbers, and coordinate reference system information, allowing the data to be reconstructed as regular GeoTIFF rasters. GPP is expressed in g C m⁻² 8 d⁻¹, and the missing value is set to −9999.</dc:description>
