<dc:title>Dataset of microclimate, soil physicochemical properties, soil microbial resource limitation, microbial community structure and microbial necromass carbon in warm-temperate forests of Shanxi Province</dc:title>

<dc:description>This dataset was obtained from field measurements and indoor experiments of 13 altitude gradient plots in the 894-2194 m warm-temperate forest of Lishan, Shanxi. It covers five types of measured and calculated data: microclimate, soil physicochemical indicators, microbial resource limitations, microbial community structure, and microbial necromass carbon. TMS soil temperature and humidity detector and EasyLog air temperature and humidity detector are used in the field to record air temperature and humidity and soil temperature and humidity data; Soil physical and chemical indicators were measured using basic methods, and extracellular enzymes were determined using a fluorescence substrate method labeled with 4-methylumbelliferone. Soil microbial resource limitations (vector length, angle) were calculated; microbial necromass carbon was calculated by formula after determining amino sugars using liquid chromatography. All statistical analyses were conducted using Excel, SPSS 26.0, Origin 2024, and R4.5.1 software. All data is stored in an Excel file. In Sheet 1, the rows correspond to different altitude gradient data, and the columns correspond to the original data of soil physical and chemical properties such as sampling altitude, microclimate temperature and humidity, soil organic carbon, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, community structure, resource limitations, necromass carbon, etc. The units of each indicator are uniformly labeled as g·kg⁻1, mg ·g⁻1,%, etc. The summary table of all calculated indicators in Sheet 2 is in the universal xlsx file format and can be opened directly using Office or WPS. </dc:description>
