<dc:title>Code for: Future climate extremes enhance interannual variability of net primary production in Central Asia</dc:title>

<dc:description>The code can be used to reproduce the analysis results and figures presented in Chu et al. (2026), published in Environmental Research Letters (DOI: 10.1088/1748-9326/ae6dd4). The study investigates how intensifying climate extremes — droughts, heatwaves, anomalous wet periods, and compound dry-hot events — amplify the interannual variability (IAV) of net primary production (NPP) across Central Asia under CMIP6 multi-model projections (SSP126 and SSP585) throughout the 21st century.Raw CMIP6 climate and NPP inputs are available from the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) at https://esgf-node.llnl.gov/projects/cmip6/. The processed data tables derived from CMIP6 NPP and climate model outputs (temperature, precipitation) are available via Zenodo (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18686207) or via ScienceDB.The deposit includes complete R analysis code covering sensitivity analyses, IAV threshold identification, main attribution analysis, and figure generation. The code can also be available via GitHub (https://github.com/Programmer112321/Future-climate-extremes-enhance-interannual-variability-of-net-primary-production-in-Central-Asia).</dc:description>
